The development of the mobile workstation for forest operations aims to realize an open mobile system that can cooperate with other existing systems. The focus is on real-time acquisition and use of geometry and attribute data for forest operations, operational inventory and consulting.
The mobile workstation enables time-effective work in forestry operations, business inventories and consultations, as special preparation work and rework can be eliminated. Data quality will also be significantly increased and typical workflows for data collection and processing can be standardized.
In addition, it will be possible to use the mobile workstation for other areas of application, such as biotope mapping or forest condition surveys. Mobility@forest involves users in the testing of the system at an early stage. The modules developed are constantly validated and gradually expanded based on user feedback. Forest operations, business inventory and consulting serve as reference applications for the development of a mobile workplace.
