Research Report for 2012

2012 was for the Institute for Applied Systems Technology Bremen GmbH (ATB), founded in 1991 as a public, non-profit organisation based on an initiative by the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the Daimler AG, the year which continued the successful acquiring and realising both public funded and direct industry funded research projects. In its 21st year the Institute continues to fulfil its strategic objectives of providing highly innovative technological solutions for industrial applications based on top level research, in close cooperation with industrial companies within the Bremen area and Germany, as well as with its Europe wide network of research and industry partners.

This annual report includes a brief update of the overall RTD strategy and key RTD activities. From more than 20 public and industrial funded research projects carried out in 2012, eleven research projects, highlighting the above mentioned three key R&D topics and application domains, were selected.
