Layout of DaimlerChrysler Business Case

Because of the complexity of the rear axle (many single pieces) DC uses 46 process-cells to manufacture the axle. Each process-cell contains welding robots, fixture devices and controllers.

The production  process in a cell is controlled by a  PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). The robots are controlled by robot controllers. The welding device is controlled by a separate welding control.
